About

Aloha!  Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website.

Mission

My mission is to Help Clients Achieve the American Dream through U.S. Immigration and Entrepreneurialism.

I passionately fulfill my mission as a U.S. attorney and business consultant.

I have been an attorney for over twenty (20) years.  I successfully represented many clients before the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the U.S. District Court in Honolulu, the Board of Immigration Appeals , the Immigration Court in Honolulu, the former INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service), the USCIS, the USICE, the USCBP, the FBI and various U.S. embassies/consulates overseas.  I help clients obtain visas, work cards, green cards, naturalize as U.S. citizens, and stay in the U.S. through deportation/removal defense litigation.

I also mentor select people in their business mindset and systems.

Community Outreach

Speaker/Lecturer.
On occasion, I speak about and/or teach immigration law.  I taught other licensed attorneys in VCLE/MCPE credited courses, such as "Pro Bono Representation of Immigrants: A Primer on Working with Immigrants & Representing Pro Bono Clients in Naturalization Proceedings."  I also spoke to the business law section of the Hawaii State Bar Association regarding business visas.  I have also presented information to university students regarding their immigration options during school and upon graduation.

Naturalization Fair Attorney.
I provide pro bono service at naturalization fairs sponsored by the Hawaii Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and various members of the U.S.  Congress.  I support certain versions of the DREAM Act, and offered pro bono services regarding DACA (Deferred Action for Certain Childhood Arrivals) relief.

Radio Show.

In 2011, Attorney Ronald T. Oldenburg, Leonora Sanidad and I decided to stop hosting the talk radio show Immigration and You.  Our last show was on Halloween, October 31, 2011.  Immigration and You was heard for over 20 years most Monday evenings from 8 - 8:30 pm on Honolulu Radio Station KNDI, 1270 AM.   It was started by Attorney Ronald T. Oldenburg, Leonora Sanidad (who provided excellent Illocano and Tagalog interpretation).  I joined the show as a co-host in 2004.  I am proud to say we provided free information about U.S. Immigration Law to the entire State of Hawaii.  Callers would call and ask questions and we would do our best to answer them live, over the air, in a clear, concise and compassionate manner.  In just 30 minutes, we usually had about a dozen calls, but once Leonora, who kept track of every call, counted 21 calls!
